Waste products originally collected for disposal may be diverted to Renewed Earth’s state registered composting facility to create beneficial soil components. These components are used in growing media, landscaping soils and for environmental remediation projects.

Evaluation
Determine physical and chemical characteristics of the by-product
Conduct economic and environmental feasibility analysis
Provide MDEQ information to obtain approval for compost trials
Conduct trials at Renewed Earth’s composting facility
Determine physical and chemical characteristics of resulting products
Obtain input from MDEQ after providing trial results
Determine uses of incorporating the by-product into the Compost Operating Plan
Conduct final cost-benefit analysis
Implementation
Obtain approval of amended Compost Operating Plan from MDEQ
Formalize contractual terms favorable to all parties
Dedicate, purchase, or contract labor, machinery and equipment
Collect and transport the by-product to Renewed Earth’s composting facility
Continue to evaluate and adjust accordingly
Assist in promoting the manufacturers environmental responsibility when possible
Explore additional opportunities with the manufacturer
